FSEM as organisation, itself was formed in 1998 and rapidly became a highly respected and well-established accrediting umbrella for crystal and energy healing. Later on it included Bach flower remedies, de-stress therapy and a teacher training course, continuing to set and maintain the best possible standards in subtle energy therapies.
In 2011, its existing standards were considerably revised and updated. Subtle energy medicine to practitioner and specialist levels, created by one of its member schools, was also included and accredited. Additions to the code of conduct were set in order to help maintain professionalism and public safety. All of this was done as a natural progression gained by years of knowledge and experience.
The qualities of Light, Integrity and Dedication were adopted as the umbrella’s heading, being indicative of the its principles towards members, standards of practice, therapies, the public and other health care professionals. It was also renamed the Federation of Subtle Energy Medicine (FSEM).
The FSEM has set and upholds a high standard of training and practice in the therapies it accredits. Its member schools also offer a source of profound inner development, ancient wisdom, meditation, life skills through energy awareness and other related subjects. All tutors are highly experienced in what they teach and have done the FSEM teacher training course in addition to their other qualifications. A further aim is to provide an optimum service to the public whilst protecting the integrity of the therapies and practitioners.
The FSEM acknowledges that training in subtle energy therapies involves commitment, time and practice. The minimum time of training and supervised practice before qualifying is therefore two years, including the set amount of tutor led tuition. In our view anything less may compromise client (public) safety, practicing standards, professional ethics and conduct.
In addition to the set minimum standard of two years training to subtle energy medicine practitioner level, a further two years, leading to a specialist qualification are also available. A structured fifth year may be attended as CPD. Collectively this equates to 450hrs tutor led tuition over a minimum of five, but usually more years.
All FSEM members are expected to work and adhere to a high code of conduct, practice and ethics, in order to help promote professionalism and effectiveness within the therapies it represents, as well as the ‘healing movement’ in general. Members work in close co-operation, harmony and goodwill, maintaining individual styles and expertise whilst adhering to the set standards.
FSEM is also a founder member of Subtle Health International (SHI)
